The "Abstract Expressionist" movement in art brought modern art into
the mainstream and was the catalyst for the mainstream acceptance of
Expressionist design. Pollock, Rothko, Motherwell, Albers, Nevelson, Miro,
Dali, Romano, Voulkos, Gilhooley, DeVore, and Beatrice Wood - all were artists
who allowed the emotions to flow onto their chosen "canvas" rather
than reproducing the actual.
